After attending the recent Coming Together Sunday on September 13th,  I heard a lot about both listening and loving as we sat around tables with the four “experimental” ideas from our Strategic Planning Team. No matter how we move forward, listening was mentioned many times.  My own response to these ideas is to offer a Listening Training Session after church on Sunday, November 1st. I’ve been a listener as a spiritual director, a pastor and as founder of the Listening  Post of Anchorage. There’s so much more to listening than simply not speaking as someone talks. It’s an orientation that values the other and helps them understand their own inner call.

While I’ll be giving my best advice on how to listen to really hear one another, we will also listen to what you know as well and do some practice. Plan on an hour to a hour and a half, depending on questions.
